2009 Season - Week 8

Well known tracks often heard at HQ are “Tennessee” and “Oh Carolina” but we were struggling to fill out our album. So it’s a huge thanks to George and Kate who spent an hour one evening early last month sending me 14 emails to complete the BUMS album featuring a song from every franchise. Attached is the full 32 track listing. Owners Hall of Fame Thanks to the 3 owners who cast their votes last week. The rules are simple - each year one owner (past or present) will be honoured by the current owners. All you have to do is email me by November 21st the owners name you wish to place in the Hall of Fame, Owners Wing. Please note there is no room for narcissism in the BUMS - YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF. Nominations are listed alphabetically on the attached sheet with the 13 current owners not in, joined by the 5 former owners:- Andrew Gulliford, Mark Harris, Paul Privitera Phil Long & Steve Talbot. With 13 votes still available let the campaigning begin, why do YOU deserve to be in? Big Game Monday Night Football With no kickers playing and 2 head coaches facing off only 9 players could score in the Saints Falcons game. Those players put up 45 points for an average of 5 (if all 128 players averaged that, the weekly total would be 640 points- the highest we have ever achieved is 521). It was dramatic for a number of people not least Dave G who was facing his first ever Hall of Shame week as 3 of his players were on their bye week and he was still on zero with just Saints RB Pierre Thomas to play. He needn’t have worried as just 5 minutes into the game Thomas scored and Dave climbed out of the relegation zone. Thomas scored again with 5 minutes to go so Dave is now 8 points above the drop spot. Meantime Marcus and Johnny got a TD each from their players and so Marcus leads Johnny and Chief by just 1 point at the top of the Premiership. Trading Day 2 & Thanksgiving. Make a note in the diary Trading Day 2 is on November 22nd before the week 11 games. The Thanksgiving games are the following Thursday November 26th at HQ live from 5:30 starting with Green Bay at Detroit and at 9:15 the mighty Oakland Raiders travel to Dallas. Cheryl will be doing a Thanksgiving Day Dinner. BUMS on Seats Chief is back in Europe Motor Racing this weekend so you are meeting at Johnny’s on Sunday from 6pm for Houston @ Indianapolis followed by San Diego @ NY Giants.
